Austin Art @ Turquoise Door II

I love Austin!

I had an incredible experience while at the International Film Festival Summit in Austin, Texas. The city is amazing; it's got great food (more meat than you can shake a skewer at), great entertainment and art, and it's got a brigde filled with bats (complete with metallic rotating bat-statue)!

On my last in Austin, I walked up South Congress Avenue and ended up at Turquoise Door II. The Turquoise Door was established in 1989 and presents the highest quality of American Indian jewelry and Latin American folk art. The colorful works of Inocencio Vasquez and Felipe Linares instantly drew me into the store. This little shop in Austin had some of the most amazing Day of the Dead artwork and a lot of other pieces that truly complimented the ambience of the establishment. The staff was really friendly, they took the time to suggest an awesome burger joint up the road.

When you make it out to Austin, make sure you stop by and enjoy the art and culture of the Turquoise Door!
