Another Trailer Tuesday, better late than never.
Clowns never bothered me when I was young, until that fateful Sunday, November 18, 1990. The IT miniseries finally premiers on TV and I relished all of IT's clown anxiety creating moments. But this film may be something other.
When I heard this reboot was being made I thought to myself, "doesn't hollywood have enough money? Do they really have to destroy another childhood memory?" However, I might be wrong because I see some truly positive elements. The film takes place in the 1980's. The child predatory overtones have been dropped and replaced. Pennywise is now closer in age to the children, he is their dark heart, the evil in boys becoming men. Also Bill Skarsgård who will play the iconic Pennywise said this:
"It's such an extreme character. Inhumane. It's beyond even a sociopath, because he is not even human. He's not even a clown. I'm just playing one of the beings It creates."
Sounds like this may be a terrifyingly fun treat. Also, the cinematography of this feature looks like it could build up to some truly frightening moments.
But don't take my word for it. Check out the trailer and let us know what you think.
